A warm hap with a lively design serves many uses for chilly days, both indoors and out. Knit from neck to hem in cozy, natural wools using simple stitches, this triangular piece will bring lots of joy and fun, both in the making and the wearing when fall rolls around again.

Substituting yarn and/or needles may result in an overall variation in size, drape, and yardage requirement.

Sample shown is knit using the Haplander Square Kit, which includes two skeins each of Bare Naked Wools British Jacob Marled Sport (Color A), Wensleydale Sport (Color B), East Friesian Sport (Color C), Shetlandia Sport (Color D), and Oxford Sport (Color E)

    Yarn Requirement:
350 yards each of five shades (900 yards total)

Gauge: 24 sts and 33 rows = 4 inches / 10 cm in stockinette stitch on smaller needles (knit flat, washed, and air-dried)

    Needles:
size 6US (4.0 mm) or size to obtain correct gauge; DPNS in same size for casting on
size 7US (4.5 mm) or .5 mm larger than gauge needle
Note: shawl may be worked on two circular needles if desired; a variety of needle lengths may be required to accommodate the growing shawl size
