Leaving Pullover

A feminine cardigan or pullover in nine sizes (XXS/XS/S/M/L/1X/2X/3X/4X) with a loose hem and high, A-line shape, close-fitting through bust and sleeves, which features a panel of curling openwork leaves at center front and back, as well as the lower sleeve. A short flare of twisted-rib trim edges the hem, sleeves, front bands, and scoop neck.

Buttons:

For cardigan only: 8(8, 9, 9, 9, 9, 9, 10, 10) buttons, .375 inches (10 mm) in diameter

Gauge:

21 sts and 31 rows = 4 inches/10 cm in stockinette on body needle, washed and blocked

23 sts and 31 rows = 4 inches/10 cm in Large Leaf pattern on body needle, washed and blocked

Needles:

Size 4US (3.5mm) for body (or size to obtain correct gauge)

Size 5US (3.75mm); one size larger than body needle) for rib trims

Size 3US (3.25mm; one size smaller than body needle) for rolled edging
