Scintilla Beret

This pretty tam in two sizes (S/L) adds a spark of color and texture to deep winter outfits. Worked in the round from brim to center, it appears to weave a complex web of stitches but the pattern is actually much easier to knit than it looks. Whether you choose a bright color to create impact or a soft neutral for a more organic look, this will be a favorite accessory to knit and wear. Use a soft yarn for best drape.

Finished Size: 16.5(19) inches in circumference around brim to fit heads measuring up to 21(24.5) inches / diameter for either size is 10 inches

Yarn Requirements: 160(200) yards

Gauge:
21 sts and 32 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch on larger needles (knit flat, washed, and air-dried)

Needles:
size 5US (3.75 mm) circular needles and DPNs for hat body (or size to obtain correct gauge)
size 2.5US (3.0 mm) circular needles for brim (or .75 mm smaller than gauge needle)
Note: hat may be knit  using any circular method, such as a single circular needle, two circulars, magic loop, or DPNs
